Mop pads are consumables. Cleaning them well prevents:
- streaking
- residue buildup
- mildew/musty odors
The simplest cleaning routine
After each use (best)
- Rinse pad with warm water
- Squeeze (don’t twist aggressively)
- Air dry fully
Weekly (deeper clean)
- Mild detergent soak (10–15 minutes)
- Rinse thoroughly
- Air dry
Dry fully
A damp pad left attached to a robot or left in a pile is the fastest route to odor.
When to replace the pad
Replace when:
- fibers are matted down and streaking increases
- the pad frays or loses shape
- odor persists after washing
- it no longer feels “grabby” on the floor
